
Commission E of the National Parliament which deals with Infrastructure Affairs inspected the Central Compound of IGEADI, I.P. in Hera. (THURSDAY, 02/26/2026).
DILI, February 26, 2026 – Commission E, responsible for infrastructure matters, led by Commission President Deputy Marcos Xavier, accompanied by Commission E members, inspected the IGEADI Central Compound, IP Hera, to directly observe heavy equipment and held a meeting with the structure of Council Administration IGEADI, Directors, and Heads of Departments.
After the meeting, the President of Commission E dealt with Infrastructure Affairs, Deputy Marcos Xavier, knowing many deputies, in the Plenary meeting in the National Parliament, appreciated the work of IGEADI, I.P.
“This afternoon we arrived at IGE, we came to observe directly the heavy equipment and held a meeting with the President of IGEADI and his vocals and Directors and senior positions,” said the President of Commission E Deals with Infrastructure Affairs, Marcos Xavier.
The deputy appreciated the Council Administration of IGEADI, I.P. led by the President, Dra. Ana Paula da Cruz who gave detailed information to Commission E of the National Parliament.
“IGE also has a budget of five million, to purchase more heavy equipment, because some of their equipment is old, from the UNTAET time, which the Japanese offered to IGE, some are good and some are bad. According to the information we have collected, IGE heavy equipment totalled two hundred (200), but only one hundred (100) were operational, which is why they invested money in purchasing new heavy equipment for use in emergency services and other services,” he said.
The President of Commission E also asked IGE, as the owner of the project to purchase heavy equipment, in the tendering process technicians from IGE must continue to accompany and asked to become a jury for the tendering process.
The deputy recommended to the Council Administration of IGEADI, I.P, to prepare uniforms and protective equipment for employees and operators, because the inspection of commission E to the municipality , saw operators do not use protective equipment in the workplace.
At the same location, the president of IGEADI, I.P., Dr. Ana Paula da Cruz, stated that Commission E visited IGEADI, I.P. with the objective of closely observing the work carried out by IGEADI, I.P. and also observed the equipment highlighted in IGE.
“Today, Commission E visited IGEADI, I.P. with the objective of observing more closely the work developed by IGEADI, I.P., and also seeing the equipment that stands out at IGE, because now is the rainy season, and also observed the level of development of IGE’s work and whether the use of the machine is at maximum or not,” added the president of IGEADI, Dr. Ana Paula da Cruz.
President of IGEADI, I.P added, rainy season with limited machinery but brigade teams with heavy machinery have been deployed in the national territory, when natural disasters occur IGE quickly normalize.
“Seeing the seriousness of the Government regarding the work of IGE, the government also invested a considerable budget so that IGE could acquire more machines. I believe that next year IGE will function better, because my policy is that each municipality works with a team to prevent floods. The IGE team can normalize the situation quickly, protecting our communities from natural disasters. Ten years ago, when it rained heavily, only water came in, but lately it rains, bringing sand, stones and footprints,” said the President of IGEADI, I. P.
The President said that human resources, especially IGE operators, have no problem, because recently the National Parliament approved a law for IGE, to give IGE the opportunity to open training for Timorese to become operators of high-risk heavy equipment.
In response to the deputies’ recommendations regarding uniforms and personal protective equipment for employees and operators, the president of IGEADI, I.P. emphasized that, by the end of November, IGE will be able to obtain uniforms to distribute to the brigade teams for use in their work, so that people know that IGE is providing emergency services.
“At the end of November we can get uniforms, for the teams to work with uniforms so that people know IGE is this, because the machine from the company is also a lot,” she added
Regarding fuel, the president reaffirmed that IGE has no problem with fuel because during this time IGE has done very good management of fuel use.
During the meeting with IGEADI, I.P. Members of Commission E appreciate and express their gratitude to the leadership of the President of IGEADI, I.P Dra. Ana Paula da Cruz, who as a woman has made great changes and progress in the management of equipment and services of IGE. The dedication shows that women’s leadership is also involved in infrastructure development in Timor-Leste.
