The department’s role is to ensure the production of electricity through the operation and maintenance of Hera, Betano, Atauro and Comoro power plants, coordination, inspection and monitoring of oil supply to power plants. Research and collect renewable energy sources and panel facilities in isolated areas and far from the national electrical network and improve biogas, biodiesel, hydrokas and photovoltaics.
Four (4) power plants are being built in Timor-Leste, except RAEOA, namely:
1. The Hera power plant has the capacity to install.
2. The Betano power plant has the capacity to install
3. The Comoro power plant has a capacity of 27.5
4. The Atauro Administrative Post Power Centre has a capacity of 2100 cVA or 2.320 mW.
The Hera – Betano power plant has a total capacity of 255.MW and parallel operation, Hera Center operation with the Isochronous mode and Betano Center operation with the speed drop.
