C.A Igeadi, I.P and team held an audience with Commission E of the National Parliament to present the draft Law on training, certification and licensing of high risk equipment. Wednesday (9/01).
Dili, January 9, 2025 (IGEADI.IP) – The Institute for Management of Equipment and Support for Infrastructure Development, Public Institute (IGEADI.IP). Led by President Dr. Ana Paula da Cruz, held a public hearing this Wednesday (09/01/2025) with the Deputies of the National Parliament Commission E Infrastructure Affairs, to present the Service Plan and the new Law to strengthen and expand the competence of IGEADI, IP as stated in Law Number 14/2022 of 24 October.
Through her intervention, the President of IGEADI.IP Dra. Ana Paula da Cruz, said that six months ago IGEADI.IP met with the Members of Committee E, to present the Work Plan of IGEADI, on the opening of Training, Certification and Licensing for operators of high-risk work equipment, according to international standards, but the Deputies of Committee E were concerned and questioned, because there is no law that attributes to IGEADI the execution of its plans.
“Today we came to meet with Commission E to present the work plan and the new law that we prepared to give IGEADI the strength to carry out its work according to the plan. We know that a previous law gave IGEADI the opportunity to only maintain machines and provide restabilization, not being able to do other work. Because of this, we came today to present the new law that gives IGEADI the power to carry out its work according to the plan that we presented previously,” said the President of IGEADI.IP. Dr. Ana Paula da Cruz.
President of IGEADI.IP said, before IGEADI has done training, certification and licensing with international standards for operators of high-risk work equipment, but the law does not exist to give the opportunity to IGEADI to perform its work, therefore the new law will give IGEADI the opportunity to perform the work, according to the plan was prepared.
