President of the IGEADI Council, I.P., Minister of Finance Santina Cardoso and JICA Representative in Timor-Leste participated in the signing of the grant agreement between the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the Kayrala Xanana Gusmao Auditorium, in Aitarak-laran.
DILI, 11 December 2025 – The Government of Japan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), supported 3 million dollars to the Government of Timor-Leste to purchase heavy equipment for the Institute of Equipment Management and Infrastructure Development Support, Public Institute (IGEADI, I.P.).

These important activities mark an important moment of cooperation between Timor-Leste and the Government of Japan that we consider as a friendship agreement between Timor-Leste and Japan, because Japan’s support through JICA to Timor-Leste is not the first time, but since the new independence to the development process of the country, so today, the Government of Japan, through the Embassy of Timor-Leste Japan International Agency (JICA) continues to help Timor-Leste through grant support to complete the budget that Timor-Leste needs to purchase heavy equipment that will be used for road construction, river normalization and other needs,” said Finance Minister Santina Cardoso at the Auditorium Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, Aitarak Laran (11/12/2015).

The Government Member also asked the people of Japan through JICA to continue to help Timor-Leste in the future, because Japan is not new to Timor-Leste, but since the beginning of Timor’s independence has helped many things, as well as many agendas that support Timor-Leste’s development in this country.
